The Gap, a charity based in Warwick, focuses on providing security to society’s most vulnerable demographics, the young and the elderly. Although The Gap normally conducts its mission through its community center, where it provides a safe environment for these groups to interact and personally develop, they have recently sought expansion. Obstacles, however, are numerous. In an ever-tightening grant market, and amidst faltering government support for non-profits, plans for new methods and programmes to extend The Gap’s reach encounter instant financial headwinds. The solution, most probably, will depend on creative and innovative methods to raise the charity’s top-line, streamline operations and monetise its resources without adversely taxing those it serves. For the sixth year in a row, The Gap has turned to Enactus.
